African Studies
Overview
The Minor will provide students with a broad background in African history, societies, culture, and politics. The program is directed towards students with a view of visiting or working in Africa or those who are interested in government or public service careers.
Point of Pride
Students in the multidisciplinary African Studies minor take courses in many departments, including English; Geography-Geology; History, Music, Politics and Government, Sociology and Anthropology, Theatre and Dance, and Languages, Literatures, and Cultures.
Why study African Studies?
The field of African studies observes the history, culture, politics, anthropology, and languages in Africa.
