Exercise Science
Overview
The Exercise Science minor is an academic program designed for students who wish to engage in the study of exercise science, but do not wish to major in Kinesiology. This program of study provides academic background for individuals desiring initial exposure to the various professions in the exercise science field and to those majoring in related fields such as nursing, health sciences, and dietetics.
Point of Pride
More than 95 percent of students in the School of Kinesiology and Recreation pass their respective certification exams on the first attempt following graduation.
Why study Exercise Science?
Exercise Science is the study of movement and the associated functional responses and adaptations. A student studies how different exercises and fitness programs affect the human body and learns how to prepare athletes or injured individuals to reduce their risk of injury.
