Community Health Education

The Health Education Program at Illinois State University prepares students for professional positions in a variety of fields focused on health promotion and disease prevention. Community Health Educators work in community settings such as health care, public health, voluntary agencies, business and industry, and universities.

Why Study Community Health Education?

Health Education promotes positive healthy behaviors by designing, implementing and evaluating educational programs and services in a variety of settings. Health educators teach health in schools and work in community settings such as health care, public health, business and industry, and universities. People who have a sincere interest in health and wellness and who see the importance of preventing health problems are often involved in health education.

Application Information

Minors can only be declared by current Illinois State students. Current students can use the Apply to Your Program tool on My.IllinoisState.edu.

Application Period

Applications are only accepted in February and September.
