Department and Unit Pride

Fear the Bird Now in its 10th year, the Bone Student Center's Bird Shirt/Fear the Bird tradition promotes school spirit throughout campus and beyond. With more than 40,000 shirts worn by Redbird supporters, the shirt is regularly spotted not only on campus, but all over the country and the world.
food Campus Dining Services held its 8th annual Local Foods Dinner in 2015 in Marketplace at Linkins Center. The meal featured dishes made with locally grown food from many different farms throughout Central Illinois.
students on treadmills Campus Recreation and the Student Fitness Center (SFC) celebrated a major milestone in 2013 when the SFC reached one million student visits. The SFC continues to be a tremendous addition to the health of the campus community since opening its doors in 2011.
career fair Over 700 employers (both new and returning) attended the Career Center's career fairs to recruit Illinois State students for internship and full-time career opportunities, a 6.5 percent increase over the previous academic year. On-campus interviews and recruiting increased by 14 percent this academic year. Eighty-eight employers conducted on-campus interviews with 1,146 students during the 2015–2016 academic year. 
student working outside Over 12,000 hours of community service were done through programs coordinated by the Leadership and Community Connections unit of the Dean of Students Office during the 2015–2016 academic year.
discussion with student Disability Concerns is a forerunner for quality production of textbooks and course-related material in alternative format and in closed captioned video materials for students with disabilities. This past year more than 100,000 pages of text and 5,000 minutes of video were produced. 
no smoking sign Health Promotion and Wellness received nearly $20,000 in outside grants to support important campus initiatives addressing breastfeeding, tobacco cessation, alcohol education, and to fund the creation of a bystander intervention program.
student talking to police chief In 2015 Illinois State University Police responded to over 3,700 calls for service. Over 36 percent of those calls were providing public assistance and crime prevention activities.
APA logo Student Counseling Services hosts one of the first predoctoral internship training programs in a college or university counseling center setting to be accredited by the American Psychological Association.
students in residence hall Student Health Services earned reaccreditation in 2015 from the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC). To achieve accreditation, Student Health Services meets nationally recognized standards for outpatient health care.
students in the residence hall University Housing's resident and community assistants excel in the classroom. In spring 2015, 30 percent of all resident and community assistants earned GPAs of 3.5 or higher. Ten percent reached a 4.0 GPA.
