Celebrated librarian and blogger Stephen Abram will present the Bryant Jackson Lectureship on Thursday, Sept. 27, at 3 p.m. at the Illinois State University Alumni Center, 1101 N. Main St., Normal, with a talk titled The Future: FrankenLibraries or Librarytopia. The event is part of the 2012 Speaker Series.
Through his blog, Stephen's Lighthouse, Abram works to illuminate library industry trends, innovation and information. The author of the best-selling book Out Front with Stephen Abram, he provides tips and techniques for strategic thinking and innovation in libraries. Abram, a former vice president for innovation at the library innovation firm SirsiDynix, is also a past president of the Special Libraries Association and the Ontario and Canadian Library associations. His talk is sponsored by the Bryant Jackson Lectureship.
