Andrienne Lo

Adrienne Lo Adrienne Lo will explore the rise of international students on U.S. campuses with English and the Promise of the Global: Education Migration in Transnational South Korea at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 11 in Stevenson Hall 101. The talk is part of the 2012 Speaker Series.

Lo works with the University of Illinois to examine the response to the rise of international students on campus. With detailed experiences of a suburban Korean American community in California, she researches how the South Korean popular media depicts multilingualism and citizenship in transnational South Korea. Lo’s talk is sponsored by Illinois State University’s Department of English.

The Speaker Series of Illinois State University seeks to bring innovative and enlightening speakers to the campus with the aim providing the community a platform to foster dialog, cultivate enriching ideas and continue an appreciation of learning as an active and lifelong process.
