Animal rights activist and advocate of no-kill animal shelters Nathan Winograd will speak on the topic Building a No-Kill Community at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 16, at Capen Auditorium of Edwards Hall, with a book signing to follow. The talk is part of the Speaker Series.
Winograd is a former criminal prosecutor and corporate attorney who speaks internationally on animal shelter issues. His past work includes writing animal protection legislation at the state and national levels and working to create successful No-Kill programs in urban and rural communities. Winograd is the author of Redemption, one of the most critically acclaimed books on No-Kill shelters, and the winner of five national book awards. His talk is sponsored by Wish Bone Canine Rescue, SmartVet and Milner Library.
