Social Aspects of Aging studies the aging process. It takes a close look at the social, cultural, and biological aspects of aging.
As a Social Aspects of Aging student at Illinois State, you'll focus on all the issues and problems that come later in life. You'll also look at the aging process throughout a lifespan and see how aging is shaped by many factors, including:
- Social circumstances
- Historical and political consequences
- Culture
- Organizational effects, such as work history
Point of Pride
Students in the Social Aspects of Aging minor complete a guided, pre-professional internship, applying academic knowledge to policy and practice in careers most relevant to them.
