Special Education - Learning Behavior Intervention Spec 2/Multiple Disabilities Spec
The Multiple Disabilities program is a 5-course sequence that prepares special education teachers to meet the needs of students with moderate, severe, and multiple disabilities, including preparing those teachers to utilize evidence-based practices in assessment, curriculum development, and instruction.
The Multiple Disabilities program is typically offered through a cohort model, with new cohorts beginning in odd numbered years. Cohort members can be students enrolled in the Master of Science program in the Department of Special Education, combining core courses and electives, or non-degree seeking students taking the courses as a stand-alone non-degree program. This certificate requires 15 credit hours for completion.

University Admission Requirements
A student applying to a graduate certificate program must:
- have earned a four-year bachelor's degree or its equivalent from a college or university that is accredited by the appropriate regional accrediting association, or do so within one academic year

Additional Program Admission Requirements
A student applying to this program must:
- submit a current resume
- submit a cover letter outlining professional goals
- submit a letter documenting a minimum of one year of successful teaching experience
- provide an official transcript from each higher education institution attended
- provide a photocopy of current teaching certificates
- submit names and email addresses of three references for letters of recommendation within the online application
- Fall Term — March 1

- Summer Term — March 1
