The University Scholarship is awarded to new freshmen from traditionally underrepresented groups or first-generation college students. Freshmen who meet the criteria for the University Scholarship and apply for admission during our preferred filing period of September 1 - November 15 will be invited to apply for this award.
3.5+ cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale

Not selected? Students who complete the University Scholarship process but are not selected will automatically be awarded a Redbird Academic Scholarship.
To compete for the University Scholarship—and to be eligible for the highest available awards—students will be required to submit a scholarship form for review shortly after admission to the University. The information on this form includes:
- Academic achievement
- Extracurricular involvement
- Leadership roles
- Work experience
- A brief essay
- Optional SAT or ACT test scores
Beyond providing a very generous scholarship, the University Scholars Program has aided me in several ways to achieve my goals during my first year of college.

The University Scholarship is renewable for up to three additional years. To renew your award, you must maintain:
- Continuous enrollment with 12 hours or more
- 2.75+ cumulative GPA
