Craig T. Bouchard

Craig Bouchard '77, M.S. '79 will receive an honorary doctoral degree at Illinois State University's Founders Day Convocation on February 15.

Craig is the Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Braidy Industries, Inc.

Craig is a New York Times Best Selling author. “The Caterpillar Way. Lessons in Leadership, Growth and Shareholder Value” was released in October of 2013, reaching #1 on the Barnes & Noble Best Seller List, and #8 on the New York Times Best Seller list in the business category. James V. Koch was once again Craig’s co-author.

Craig holds a Bachelor's degree from Illinois State University (1975), a Master’s Degree in Economics from Illinois State University (1977), and an MBA from the University of Chicago (1981). He is a member of the Board of Directors of New York REIT, Inc. Craig has been a member of the Board of Trustees of Boston University and the Foundation of the University of Montana. He is currently a member of the leadership board of the Department of Athletics, Duke University. Craig is an alumnus of Leadership Greater Chicago, and was a finalist for the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year award (Illinois) in 2005.

Craig was elected to the Hall of Fame of the Illinois State University College of Arts and Sciences in 2008. He is a member of the Hall of Fame of Hinsdale Central Township High School. Craig holds United States Patent 4,212,168, Power Producing Dry-Type Cooling Systems.

He is married to Melissa N. Bouchard and is the proud father of six children. Craig and his daughter Shale are ranked #3 in the 2016 US Tennis Association national rankings of Senior Father/Daughter Mixed Doubles.
