Family & Consumer Sciences - Teacher Education
Family and Consumer Sciences teacher education involves the integrated and interdisciplinary teaching of diverse populations: children, youth, adults, people with disabilities, the elderly, business professionals, and others. It also involves teaching about problem solving and critical thinking, parenting skills, relationship skills, wellness and nutrition, clothing selection, time management, job skills and money management.
Point of Pride
The Child Care Center, housed within the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences, earned accreditation from the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).
