The FCS teacher education program has a strong reputation of producing high-caliber teachers. It focuses on the fundamentals of teaching and prepares FCS teacher candidates in:

Our program meets the Illinois teacher licensure requirements.
Teacher candidates can get an Illinois teacher's license in a four or two-year degree program
. Graduates
are qualified
to teach 6th through 12th grades in all areas of FCS. Endorsement options are also available.

How to Apply
Applying to Illinois State
Illinois State's preferred filing period for freshman students for the fall semester is September 1-November 15. Applying early is encouraged, as the University must limit enrollment due to space at the University and in specific majors/programs. Visit the Office of Admissions to apply today!
