Health and Wellness Coaching
Overview
The Health and Wellness Coaching minor introduces you to health behavior theory and develops coaching skills.
Health and wellness coaching is a collaborative profession. Coaches help create plans that maximize their clients' health and happiness. Rather than giving their clients direct instructions, they help people get motivated, make decisions, set goals, and pursue higher levels of wellness.
Point of Pride
Students in Public Health work directly with community partners in more than half of their classes. You'll do things like organize food drives, partner with community events such as McLean County Heart Walk, Rock Steady Boxing, the CAUSE project, advocate for public health policy and laws, and complete service projects with agencies such as Heartland Head Start and the School Street Food Pantry.
Why study Health and Wellness Coaching?
A minor in Health and Wellness Coaching easily pairs with majors in human health. Professionals working with individuals to improve their wellbeing can benefit from coaching skills.
