Overview
The Music minor is for those students who desire to enhance their foundational understanding of music. Students opting for the Music minor typically aspire to integrate music into their intended profession.Point of Pride
The School of Music has more than 20 ensembles, including bands, orchestras, choirs, opera/musical theatre, and specialty ensembles. All are open to any students, regardless of major. (Some require auditions.)
Why study Music?
This minor encourages the study of music alongside the other liberal arts in order to provide students with a more diverse background and education.
How to Apply
Application Information
All students pursuing a minor in Music must be accepted into the School of Music by passing a performance audition on your primary instrument/voice-part.
Minors can only be declared by current Illinois State students. Current students can use the Apply to Your Program tool on My.IllinoisState.edu.
