Occupational Safety and Health
Overview
Occupational safety and health is all about protecting people from harm in the workplace. This includes anything from the structure of a building to a stressful work culture.
Safety mostly deals with prevention. A minor in occupational safety and health will help you identify hazards and prevent accidents from happening.
Point of Pride
The student organization in the Occupational Safety and Health program was recognized by the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) in 2017 and 2019 as the best in the nation.
Why study Occupational Safety and Health?
A foundation in occupational safety and health is important in many fields and will complement a wide range of majors, including environmental health, construction management, and others in technology, medical laboratory science, business programs, and chemistry.
