Courses in the Teaching English To Speakers of Other Languages minor offer students an exposure to the fundamental topics of language description, second language acquisition, and cultural-pragmatic or sociolinguistic aspects of language contact and second language acquisition as a preparation for effective EFL/ESL teaching.

Why study Teaching English To Speakers of Other Languages?

The field of Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, commonly referred to as TESOL, aims to produce students who are able to teach English to individuals who do not speak English as their primary language. TESOL instructors teach both abroad and in the United States.
