ISU Campus Inclusion Survey

Help shape the future of our campus by taking the ISU Campus Inclusion Survey and letting your voice be heard. Check your campus email for an invitation to the survey from info@viewfindersurveys.com.
The survey
The week of September 26, 2022, all ISU students, faculty, and staff will receive an invitation to take the 2022 ISU Campus Inclusion Survey. Your responses to the survey will help us to make changes to provide a campus environment where everyone feels welcome, valued, and respected.
Illinois State chose the company “Viewfinder” to send out the survey to all students and employees. Viewfinder, which also publishes the magazine Insights into Diversity, is an independent company outside of ISU, and they will ensure that your responses remain anonymous with no names attached to your survey answers.
Survey participation dates:
The week of September 26 through October 21, 2022

The survey results will be sent from Viewfinder to ISU as a report. The University will use the report to help refine current policies and set the direction for University leadership.
Past surveys have laid the foundation for important changes and improvements to our campus that support our campus’ goals of equity, diversity, and inclusion.
The survey will take about 15 to 20 minutes to complete.
No. All answers are anonymous. The University will have the answers, but not who gave them.
Viewfinder will ask your name when you log into the survey, but this will not be shared with the University. The only time the University will ask for your name is if you choose to take part in a drawing for an incentive. These drawings are not tied to the survey data. The University will not know what each person answered on the survey.
Viewfinder conducts surveys at institutions of higher learning across the country to gauge the “campus climate” of equity and inclusion. Viewfinder will provide an independent and anonymous survey, meaning Illinois State will not have the names of those who provide answers.
Every few years, the University assesses the extent to which our campus has improved in the areas of equity, diversity, and inclusion. In 2022, ISU completed a 5-year review of the accomplishments and work yet to be done from our previous campus inclusion (aka campus climate) survey. Continual feedback is needed to generate new and exciting programs and assists the University in making infrastructure changes.
Those who believe they should have received a survey link from Viewfinder via campus email, but have not, contact dboyd@viewfindersurveys.com.
