Task Force Project: Develop a 12-month equity-training plan for administrators, faculty, staff, and search committees on best practices in minority recruitment and retention that moves beyond current programs and would have a more focused curriculum.

Implementation Team Actions
- Student Affairs continued a robust system for outcomes-based equity training under Angell Howard, who also leads the division’s Inclusion Change Team. The division held more than 150 trainings focused on EDI over the past year, across all departments and areas, including Student Counseling Services, the Center for Civic Engagement, Student Affairs Information Technology, Student Health Services, Health Promotion and Wellness, Career Services, Sorority and Fraternity Life, Event Management, Dining, and Hospitality; Campus Recreation; and University Housing Services.

Academic Affairs adopted a ground-breaking approach known as
Framework for Inclusive Teaching Excellence
, developed by Dr. Yojanna Cuenca-Carlino and administered through the Center for Teaching, Learning and Technology, and throughout all colleges through the
GROWTH Change Team
Dr. Cuenca-Carlino oversees.
Since August 2021, more than 100 professional development workshops and development opportunities have been offered, with every College at Illinois State represented.
- In 2020, the office also purchased a three-year National Center for Faculty Diversity and Development (NCFDD) institutional membership, which provides access to a wide variety of mentoring and productivity resources.
- In 2022, Human Resources partnered with LinkedIn Learning to provide professional development resource s available to faculty and staff, with a multitude of topics such as equity and inclusion, technical aptitude and application, leadership, and mindfulness.
