Anthropology Geographic Information Systems
OverviewThe Anthropology Geographic Information Systems (GIS) graduate certificate provides the specialized education and training that students need to understand GIS methodology and technology as applied field of study and data management. This Anthropology GIS graduate certificate is intended to prepare graduates to meet the growing demand for GIS skills in academic research and other employment.
Point of Pride
The Anthropology graduate curriculum is flexible and individualized, allowing students to customize their program in one of the four subfields, preparing them to either enter the workforce or pursue their Ph.D.
University Admission Requirements
A student applying to a graduate certificate program must:
- have earned a four-year bachelor's degree or its equivalent from a college or university that is accredited by the appropriate regional accrediting association, or do so within one academic year

Additional Program Admission Requirements
A student applying to this program must:
- have already been admitted to the master's program in Anthropology
- have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale for either the last 60 hours of your undergraduate coursework or any previous work in a master's program
- Fall (August) Term — February 1
