Applying to Illinois State
Students seeking to pursue any Art major besides Art History must submit a portfolio as part of their application.
Applying to BA/BS in Graphic Design
Transfer students seeking admission to the BA/BS in Graphic Design are considered based on their academic proficiency and application portfolio.
Application portfolios must include images of at least five pieces of your original artwork. Portfolios may be uploaded to the Illinois State University application portal or emailed directly to Art@IllinoisState.edu. Find specific portfolio requirements in the application portal.
Applicants are encouraged to submit their portfolio as soon as possible for consideration for departmental scholarships.
Application portfolios are reviewed monthly. Portfolios must be submitted by the first of the month to be included in a review, and will otherwise be included in the next month's review.
Portfolio review results will be emailed to applicants during the same month that their portfolio is reviewed. An official letter will follow in the mail.
